If you sustain a physical injury that impedes your ability to perform the inherent duties of you role, you are required to report this information to the QPS. Information shared with your Self Refer physiotherapist is confidential and will not be disclosed to the QPS.

If you have a problem with pain or movement that is directly related to work (happened while at work, travelling to or from work, on a scheduled break or as a direct result of doing your work) you should continue to report it as a workplace injury through the QPS Injury incident notification system (IINRS).

If you sustain an injury you should seek advice from your GP, Injury Management or Health & Safety rep, and you can lodge with WorkCover either for notification purposes only or to make a claim.

If you require assistance with a Workcover claim, you can contact your: GP, Union, your Injury Management Advisor, Health & Safety rep or direct supervisor.


Accessing any of the SelfRefer provider is easy. Follow the four easy steps below:

  1. Enter your preferences into the parameters below (e.g., postcode, reason for support) and whether you are seeking in person or telehealth support and click “Search”

  2. Choose a provider from the listed results who you feel will best suit your needs
  3. Follow the provider’s instructions on how best to make your appointment
  4. At the agreed time, attend your appointment and be sure to have your current QPS ID or badge handy, your provider will need to sight it for payment purposes.

That’s it! You’re on your way to accessing three free sessions.

Payment Information

The SelfRefer program is offered to all current QPS employees as one of our external support services. The QPS will fund three sessions per Financial Year, per employee.

Whilst the first three sessions are funded by the QPS, any sundry costs such as transportation or parking fees will need to be paid for by the individual.
